who may ascend the hill of the Lord?

we bow our hearts
we bend our knees
o Spirit come, make us humble
we turn our eyes
from evil things
o Lord we cast down our idols

so give us clean hands
give us pure hearts
let us not lift our souls to another

o God let us be a generation that seeks
who seeks your face, O God of Jacob

who may ascend the hill of the Lord?
who may stand in His holy place?
he who has clean hands and a pure heart
who does not lift up his soul to an idol
or swear by what is false
he will receive blessing from the Lord
and vindication from God his Saviour
